How to Improve Your Website Optimization on Google
Improving your website optimization means your website shows up at least on the first page of a search for your niche business or services. The closer to #1 you are, more likely someone will click on your site. To do this, you need to show Google that you really care about your clients/customers/visitors.
Google has an algorithm that it updates thousands of times a year as it gains new information about how people search for your type of business. So, what kind of things does Google look for on your site? There are three areas which we call onpage, off page and technical. Onpage is what people see and experience (UX/UI) when they go to your website. Off page is anything not directly related to your website such as, but not limited to, social media and blogs. Technical SEO is the stuff behind the scenes that only Google can see.
All of this is complicated. It is meant to be complicated in order to stop scamming and other misuses of SEO. Also, it weeds out who is really interested in giving their customers the best experience and product and who isn't. So to effectively optimize your website, you will either need to hire someone to do the SEO on your website or you will need to learn how to do it yourself (which will probably cost more than hiring someone else to do the same thing, but take much longer, money left on the table).
Google has over 200 factors it ranks. Knowing what to do first and what can wait is essential. The importance of the different factors changes over time.
Because Google updates its algorithm thousands of times a year, we professinals are constantly updating our knowlege base. Should you hire or do it your self?
